TOMATO RAMEN PACKET FOUND!

FOUND: TOMATO RAMEN!

That's right! A (one) packet of Maruchan Tomato Ramen flavoring has been found. For those of you who are in the know, this is huge! For those of you who aren't, let me explain.

Maruchan, a leading manufacturer of ramen noodles, used to produce a Tomato Ramen noodle flavor. They discontinued such practice in 2003. Since then the world has been a darker place. Tomato Ramen was the best ramen noodle flavor out there, hands down. Back in college I used to eat it all the time. It made my day almost everyday (the only reason it wasn't every day was that I didn't eat it every day).
How could such a small packet wield such power? How could fate get so nasty that it was discontinued? How would we continue? How...this could get ugly, so I digress.

This is a damn treasure, I say, a treasure and boy does it shine! The Tomato Ramen has been resurrected all but for a small moment. A tiny instance. NOW.

I love(d) tomato ramen... I agree with questioning if it can be analyzed so it can be recreated!

Thank you. I thought I was the only guy who looks on the shelf at the store every visit for the "TOMATO" flavor to appear. Its taken me almost 5 years, I guess, to finally google it. I always thought they could'nt keep up with demand. I agree, tomato was the best flavor ever and it kept me well nourished in the lean times at school.

It looks like Maruchan has a new product Maruchan Yakisoba Tomato Basil (http://maruchanusa.com/). Haven't seen it in the store to try it yet. I did read that others were now using a packet of powdered tomato cup of soup mix with ramen.

Oyes. Best Flavor Ever. The last brush with it I had was the sad, sad day when I went to a local Albertsons in hopes of buying mass quantities for consumption. Alas, they were out. I was devistated. The fact that they were on sale for 7 cents a packet (try finding THAT now a-days) made the sting more prominent. I did what every tom-ram lover would. I GOT A DAMNED RAIN CHECK. Much to my chagrin...for months I went around to various Albertsons hoping to find my savior in the land of ramen. Never saw it on the shelves again. Even sadder still...it seems almost unheard of unless you were a lover of it. People that never tried it, never even saw it on the shelves. Meanwhile, people like me/us stare at them in disbelief as if they had just told us that ramen didn't exist in the first place!
